- Take a walk along the beach via the Heron Trail, starting right in front of your cottage.
- Kayak up the stream beside Cottage #2 and pass through the tunnel under Route 132. High tide required. (Beginner-friendly)
- Kayak out to Haldimand Beach. High tide required. (Intermediate to advanced)
- Bike trip to Haldimand beach (2km) for a daily swim, or fatbike on the beach.
- Bike to downtown Gaspé (11 km) using the bike path. Stop for a swim at Haldimand Beach and take a break at a scenic lookout along the way—maybe even treat the kids to an ice cream.
- Bike to Boom Defense (4 km), then continue on foot to the end (2 km). Low tide required. Why not cool off with a swim?
- Swim at Haldimand Beach, followed by a long walk to Douglastown via the iron bridge.
- Enjoy a freshwater swim at the “Blackwell” pool on the Saint-Jean River (about 1 km along the dirt road on the north side of the river). You might even spot salmon!
- In winter, strap on snowshoes, cross-country skis, or skates and head out in any direction—the ice is solid, and the shallow waters are safe.
- Relax and unwind at the cottage while watching great blue herons in the estuary.
